Supplementary Note: Revelation 20:12, 15 — The Books and Final Judgment

John distinguishes “books” from “the Book of Life.” The dead are judged according to deeds, and anyone not found in the Book of Life is cast into the lake of fire. The imagery preserves both personal accountability and belonging to God; it does not require the Book of Life to function as a literal pre-creation enrollment ledger.
