Supplementary Note: 1 Corinthians 2:7, 14 — Predestined Wisdom and Spiritual Discernment
Verse 7 says God predestined His wisdom before the ages for our glory. The object of predestination is God’s redemptive wisdom/purpose, not an explicit statement that particular unbelievers were predestined to become believers. Verse 14 teaches dependence upon the Spirit for spiritual discernment. The further claim that an unbeliever cannot hear and believe the Gospel until after regeneration must be demonstrated rather than assumed from the verse.
