Bible Verse
1 Corinthians 15:58
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...” (NKJV)
Reflection
Faithfulness requires perseverance. Paul encouraged believers to remain steadfast because their labor for Christ is never in vain. Even when results seem small or unseen, God is at work through every act of obedience. Remaining faithful during ordinary days prepares us for greater opportunities to glorify Him. Stand firm today, knowing the Lord sees every effort made for His name. Standing firm is especially important when faithfulness feels repetitive. Much of Christian service is not dramatic. It consists of praying again, encouraging again, showing up again, forgiving again, and doing ordinary work with integrity. These repeated acts form a life of perseverance. Paul anchors such perseverance in resurrection hope. Because Christ is risen and eternal life is certain, nothing done in obedience to Him is meaningless. Results may remain hidden for years, and some may not be visible in this life at all, but God measures faithfulness differently than the world measures success. Do not allow temporary discouragement to cancel a long-term calling. If you are weary, rest without quitting. If you are disappointed, bring that disappointment honestly to God and then return to the work He has given you. Your labor belongs to Him. Continue steadfastly today, trusting that the Lord sees, remembers, and will use faithful service according to His perfect purposes.
Practical Application
- Remain faithful.
- Serve gladly.
- Encourage another.
- Avoid discouragement.
- Remember eternity.
