Bible Verse
Hebrews 12:2
“Looking unto Jesus...” (NKJV)
Reflection
The Christian life is a race of endurance. We persevere by fixing our attention upon Jesus Christ, who perfectly fulfilled the Father's will. Looking to Him keeps us from becoming consumed with distractions, discouragement, or comparisons. Our Savior is both our example and our strength. As we remember His faithfulness, we are encouraged to continue running with perseverance until the work He has begun is complete. Keeping our eyes on Jesus also protects us from the trap of comparison. Other believers may appear to be running faster, receiving greater opportunities, or facing fewer obstacles, but Christ has called each of us to faithfulness in the race set before us. Our responsibility is not to duplicate another person's path but to follow the Savior faithfully on our own. When weariness comes, remember what Jesus endured and how perfectly He trusted the Father. His example reminds us that obedience is worth the cost. His present help assures us that we do not run alone. Practical focus matters as well. We may need to remove distractions that continually pull our attention away from prayer, Scripture, worship, and service. The race is completed one faithful step at a time. Therefore, do not measure today's progress only by how you feel. Look to Christ, take the next obedient step, and trust Him to provide endurance for the road ahead.
