Bible Verse
James 3:17
“The wisdom that is from above is first pure...” (NKJV)
Reflection
Godly wisdom is more than intelligence; it is the ability to live according to God's truth. James describes heavenly wisdom as pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, and sincere. These qualities reveal the character of Christ. Believers grow in wisdom by reading Scripture, seeking God's guidance, and applying His truth in daily decisions. True wisdom is recognized not only by what we know but by how we live. Every conversation, decision, and response becomes an opportunity to demonstrate the wisdom that comes from above. Heavenly wisdom also changes the way we handle disagreement. The world often rewards sharpness, self-promotion, and winning at any cost, but wisdom from above is willing to listen and eager to make peace without compromising truth. It refuses the pride that always needs the last word. Instead, it seeks responses that honor God and help others. This kind of wisdom cannot be manufactured by intelligence alone. It grows as the heart is submitted to Scripture and as prayer becomes a regular part of decision-making. Before speaking, ask whether your words are pure, peaceable, gentle, merciful, and sincere. Before acting, ask whether the decision reflects God's priorities or merely your own preferences. The Lord promises wisdom to those who ask in faith. Therefore, do not face today's decisions alone. Seek His counsel, weigh your choices by His Word, and trust Him to shape not only what you decide but also the spirit in which you decide it.
