But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Reflection

Every day presents us with countless priorities competing for our attention. Work demands our energy, family responsibilities require our time, and the pressures of daily life can easily crowd out what matters most.

Jesus gently reminds us to place God’s kingdom first.

Seeking God’s kingdom means allowing His rule to shape every part of our lives. It influences our decisions, our relationships, our finances, our ambitions, and our priorities. Rather than asking how God fits into our plans, we begin asking how our lives can better serve His purposes.

Jesus does not ignore our earthly needs. In fact, He reminds us that our Heavenly Father already knows them completely. Instead of becoming consumed with worry, believers are invited to trust God’s faithful provision while focusing their hearts upon eternal things.

When Christ becomes our highest priority, everything else begins to find its proper place.

Our greatest pursuit is no longer temporary success but eternal faithfulness.

Practical Application

  • Begin each day with prayer and Scripture.
  • Evaluate whether your schedule reflects your priorities.
  • Look for opportunities to advance God’s kingdom.
  • Trust God with tomorrow’s concerns.
  • Make Christ the center of every decision.
