Bible Verse
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Reflection
Peace is something the world longs for but can never fully provide. We often look for peace in stable finances, healthy relationships, secure employment, or predictable circumstances. While these blessings are gifts from God, they are not the true source of lasting peace. Circumstances change, but the peace Christ offers remains constant because it rests upon His unchanging character.
Paul encourages believers to let the peace of Christ “rule” in their hearts. The word “rule” carries the idea of an umpire making decisions or directing the outcome. In other words, Christ’s peace should govern our thoughts, attitudes, and responses, especially during difficult situations. Instead of allowing fear, anxiety, or frustration to control us, we are called to submit our hearts to the peace that only Christ can give.
This peace is possible because we have been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. The greatest conflict humanity has ever known—the separation caused by sin—has been resolved through the cross. Because we have peace with God, we can experience the peace of God even when life feels uncertain.
This does not mean Christians never struggle with anxiety or discouragement. It means we know where to take those burdens. Prayer, Scripture, and trust in God’s promises continually remind us that our lives remain securely in His hands.
When Christ rules our hearts, His peace becomes visible to others. A calm spirit during trials often speaks louder than many words. Our confidence becomes a testimony that our hope rests not in circumstances but in our faithful Savior.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the peace that comes through Jesus Christ. Help me to trust You more fully and allow Your peace to govern my heart each day. When fear or anxiety arises, remind me that You are sovereign over every circumstance. May my life reflect the peace that only You can give. Amen.
