Supplementary Note: Acts 4:27–28 — What God Predestined at the Crucifixion

Predestination language is explicit. Herod, Pilate, Gentiles, and Israel act against Christ while God’s predetermined redemptive event is accomplished. The object of predestination in the passage is the crucifixion/redemptive purpose. It strongly affirms God’s sovereign ability to accomplish a predetermined event through responsible human agents. It does not state that every sinful desire, motive, or act
involved was irresistibly caused by God.
