Supplementary Note: John 5:26–27, 40 — Life in the Son and the Refusal to Come
Life is entirely sourced in God and the Son. Yet Jesus tells His opponents that they are unwilling to come to Him so that they may have life. The statement describes refusal. Their problem is not Christ’s unwillingness to receive them but their refusal to come. This belongs in the evidence considered before every failure to come is defined as an inability removable only by prior regeneration.
