A Word to My Readers

Thank you for visiting Clark’s Anchored in Christ.

My desire is simple: to encourage every believer to know God more deeply through a careful and comprehensive study of His Word. Everything presented on this website has been written with that purpose in mind. 

I do not expect every reader to agree with every conclusion presented here. Throughout the history of the Church, sincere believers have differed on many doctrines, and thoughtful disagreement has often sharpened the Church’s understanding of Scripture.

These articles are written for those who are willing to search the Scriptures diligently, test every claim, and follow the evidence wherever it leads. My objective is not to persuade through emotion, tradition, or personal opinion, but through a careful examination of the whole counsel of God.

If you believe I have misunderstood a passage, overlooked an important biblical truth, or reached an unreasonable conclusion, I genuinely welcome your input. A thoughtful argument grounded in Scripture deserves careful consideration, and I am always willing to re-examine my conclusions in light of compelling biblical evidence.

On the other hand, statements such as, “I feel…” or “I think…”—while expressing sincere personal convictions—do not, by themselves, provide a sufficient basis for establishing or changing a theological position. Every one of us has opinions, traditions, and experiences, but our final authority must always be the Word of God.

For that reason, I ask only one thing of my readers: approach these studies with an open Bible, an open mind, and a sincere desire to discover what God has revealed. If we are both willing to submit our beliefs to the authority of Scripture, then even when we disagree, our discussions can remain respectful, profitable, and Christ-honouring.

Why These Articles Are So Comprehensive

You will quickly notice that many of the articles on this website are considerably longer than those typically found online. That is intentional.

My objective is not simply to explain what a particular verse says, but to understand what all of Scripture teaches concerning a particular subject. Sound doctrine is rarely established by isolating a single passage. Rather, it emerges as the unified testimony of the whole counsel of God, where each passage contributes to a fuller and more accurate understanding of the truth.

For that reason, I strive to examine every significant passage relevant to the subject under consideration—not only those that appear to support a particular conclusion, but also those that are commonly understood to challenge it. Apparent contradictions should not be ignored or explained away; they should be carefully examined until the harmony of Scripture becomes clear.

Some readers may wonder why an article spans hundreds of pages. The answer is simple: the Bible itself is not a short book. God chose to reveal His truth progressively through sixty-six books written over many centuries. If a doctrine requires a careful examination of dozens—or even hundreds—of passages to be understood faithfully, then that is the approach I believe it deserves.

Even an article several hundred pages in length is, in reality, only a concise summary when compared with the breadth and depth of Scripture itself. These studies are not intended to replace your own personal study of God’s Word, nor are they presented as the final authority on any subject. Rather, they represent my sincere effort to summarize what I understand the whole counsel of God to teach concerning the subject being examined.

I encourage you to test every conclusion against the Scriptures. Follow every reference. Read every passage in its context. Compare Scripture with Scripture. If, after careful examination, you conclude that I have misunderstood a passage, overlooked an important truth, or reached an unreasonable conclusion, then I would genuinely welcome a thoughtful, biblically supported discussion.

These articles are not offered as the end of the discussion, but as the beginning of a careful investigation. My hope is that they will encourage you to search the Scriptures more diligently, think more deeply, and continually submit both your beliefs and mine to the authority of God’s Word.

Do not accept these conclusions simply because I have written them. Test them diligently against the whole counsel of God. If they withstand that examination, hold fast to them. If they do not, then reject them—but let Scripture, rather than opinion, tradition, or personal preference, be the judge.
