Who we are

Clark’s Anchored in Christ is an independently operated Christian Bible study and teaching website dedicated to the careful examination of Scripture. The website provides Bible commentary, theological and doctrinal studies, devotionals, Bible study tools, and other resources intended to encourage readers to examine the Scriptures for themselves and to test all teaching by the Word of God.

Clark’s Anchored in Christ is not presented as representing any particular church, denomination, or theological organization. The articles, studies, commentaries, and other original materials published on this website represent the work and conclusions of Clark’s Anchored in Christ unless otherwise stated or attributed. The biblical and theological perspectives expressed on this website may, at various points, be similar to conclusions held by particular churches, denominations, theologians, scholars, or theological traditions. Such similarities should not be understood as indicating affiliation with, endorsement of, or agreement with the entirety of any particular theological system or tradition. Clark’s Anchored in Christ seeks to examine each subject independently according to Scripture, and therefore our conclusions may agree with one theological tradition on one issue while differing from that same tradition on another. Agreement or disagreement is therefore determined by the biblical evidence being examined rather than by denominational or theological affiliation.

CAPTCHA and Account Security

Clark’s Anchored in Christ uses CAPTCHA technology on certain account and login forms to help distinguish legitimate users from automated or abusive activity. This security feature is currently provided by Google reCAPTCHA.

When a CAPTCHA-protected form is accessed or used, the user’s browser may communicate directly with Google as necessary to provide and verify the CAPTCHA service. As a result, Google may receive technical information associated with the request, such as the user’s IP address, browser or device information, and information relating to the user’s interaction with the CAPTCHA.

Clark’s Anchored in Christ uses this service solely for website and account security and the prevention of automated or abusive activity. It is not used by Clark’s Anchored in Christ for the purpose of maintaining a user’s Browsing History or reading position.

Information collected directly by Google through reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s own privacy practices and applicable terms.

Browsing History and Reading Position

Clark’s Anchored in Christ maintains a policy of not writing or installing cookies or other tracking information on a user’s device for the Browsing History and Reading Position feature. Information used by this feature is instead maintained on the Clark’s Anchored in Christ server.

The browsing history maintained by Clark’s Anchored in Christ is limited exclusively to a user’s activity within the Clark’s Anchored in Christ website. We do not access, collect, or maintain a record of websites that a user visits outside of Clark’s Anchored in Christ.

This information is maintained solely as a convenience to the user. Many articles and studies on Clark’s Anchored in Christ are lengthy and may be read over several sessions. Maintaining a limited browsing history allows the website to remember a user’s most recent position within an article so that, when returning later, the user can conveniently continue reading from approximately where they left off.

The Browsing History feature displays a limited record of the user’s most recent activity on Clark’s Anchored in Christ. At present, the feature retains activity from a maximum of the user’s five most recent non-consecutive days of website use. This period may be adjusted in the future as the feature is developed.

Users remain in control of this history. Individual pages may be removed from the Browsing History, or the user may delete the entire browsing history maintained for this feature.

Clark’s Anchored in Christ does not sell, rent, or provide a user’s Browsing History to third parties for advertising, marketing, profiling, or other commercial purposes. Browsing History is maintained solely to provide website functionality and reading convenience.

Bible Atlas and External Mapping Resources

Clark’s Anchored in Christ provides an interactive Bible Atlas as part of the website. The Bible Atlas itself is operated by Clark’s Anchored in Christ; however, certain mapping resources and software libraries used to display the Atlas are currently obtained from third-party content-delivery and mapping services.

When a user views the Bible Atlas, the user’s browser may therefore make direct requests to these external services in order to obtain map styles, map tiles, or software components necessary to display the Atlas. As with other requests made over the Internet, these providers may receive technical information associated with the request, such as the user’s IP address, browser information, and the requested resource.

Clark’s Anchored in Christ does not use these external mapping resources for the purpose of tracking a user’s browsing activity, nor do we intentionally provide these services with the user’s Clark’s Anchored in Christ Browsing History.

Unless otherwise identified as external, links appearing within Clark’s Anchored in Christ are generally internal links intended to direct users to another article, study, tool, or resource within the Clark’s Anchored in Christ website.
