Today’s Bible Verse

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”  Proverbs 9:10 (ESV)

Today’s Reflection

Knowledge and wisdom are not the same. A person may possess great knowledge yet make foolish decisions. Wisdom is the ability to apply God’s truth to everyday life.

Scripture teaches that true wisdom begins with a right relationship with God. The “fear of the Lord” is not a fearful dread of punishment but a deep reverence, respect, and submission to God’s authority. It recognizes that He alone possesses perfect wisdom, and therefore His Word becomes the foundation for every decision we make.

Our world encourages people to trust themselves above all else. God’s Word points us in the opposite direction. The wisest person is not the one who has all the answers but the one who continually seeks God’s guidance.

As we spend time reading Scripture, praying, and walking in obedience, God gradually shapes our thinking. Our priorities change. Our decisions become more aligned with His will. We begin viewing people, trials, opportunities, and even suffering from God’s perspective rather than our own.

Wisdom is not acquired overnight. It grows through years of faithfully walking with the Lord. Every act of obedience strengthens our understanding of His ways and deepens our confidence in His faithfulness.

The greatest wisdom is ultimately found in Christ Himself. The more closely we follow Him, the wiser our lives become.
