The Cow, the Bird and the Cat

The Story

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It got so cold it froze up and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there freezing, a cow that had noticed the shivering little bird came by and dropped some manure on it. Although the manure was warm, the little bird was disgusted by what the cow had done and began to cry. The little birds crying then caught the attention of a passing cat.  Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of manure, and promptly dug him out, cleaned him off–and proceeded to eat him.

The Moral of the Story

The morals of this story comes in three parts:

  1. Not everyone who drops manure on you is out to hurt you.
  2. Not everyone who digs you out of a pile of manure is out to help you.
  3. Whenever you’re neck deep in manure, it would probably be best to keep your mouth shut!
